My Boss My Hero is still, to this day, one of the funniest dramas that I’ve ever seen. I love it OH SO MUCH! This Japanese drama first aired on July 8, 2006 until September 16, 2006. The story revolves around gangster Sakaki Makio (Nagase Tomoya), a 27 year old high school dropout. His father forces him to go back to school after he makes an elementary math mistake that causes a fight. If he cannot graduate high school – while posing as a 17 year old – the position of boss will go to his younger brother, Sakaki Mikio (Kikawada Masaya). At school he befriends Sakurakoji Jun (Tegoshi Yuya) and Umemura Hikari (Aragaki Yui). However, they must not know of his alternate identity.

This drama is engrossing, and Nagase Tomoya plays his role excellently! His character has a very firey personality and is always on the move, therefore there is never a boring moment when he is on screen. From the very beginning to the end of the series, you’ll be ensnared by Makio’s personality. The chemistry between him, Tegoshi Yuya and Aragaki Yui is pretty amazing in itself also – both drama and lots of humor in this series between them. I really, really recommend this drama.

I present to you, one of my favorite scenes.
